Vacant lot community meeting

Comment by erika lee on September 15, 2011 to Vacant Lot Redevelopment - LBWN

On Tuesday, September 13th, AfH Milwaukee met with LBWN and local residents near the vacant lot at 32nd & Madison to begin the process of transforming this vacant lot into a pocket park for the local community.  We had a great turn out and spent the evening working with the residents to develop a plan that follows their vison and goals for what this space could be.  Thanks to all who could make it!

We will soon be translating their visions and thoughts into plans and drawings to present to the community.

See slideshow above for photos from the meeting!

lets go scavenging!

Comment by erika lee on August 5, 2011 to Sweet Water Organics

Things are moving along with the Sweet Water partition project.  We had a fun & productive "scavanger hunt" through the Sweet Water storage room for scrap materials available to repurpose into functional partition panels for the Sweet Water educational area!

see project for pics

We will soon be scheduling a work day to begin building!  Let us know if you would like to help out!

Kudos to the UWM students who came up with many innovative and inspiring ideas for the panel project at Sweet Water Organics (see photos) We are working on streamlining these ideas and combining them into a final working product!
